Pads shedding fibers, a wool pad deforming halfway through a job, worried about cutting through the clear coat on a heavy RO cut, GA/DA vibration making it hard to hold steady pressure — a lot of the time that's the wrong pad, not bad technique. POP MONSTER's Polishing Pad Series is made to order for any RO/GA/DA machine and comes in two lines: wool pads and high-density foam pads. Wool pads handle the cutting, foam pads handle the finishing, and there are pads built specifically for GA/DA vibration frequencies. Specs

Compatible machines: RO/GA/DA, all models — backing plate and style are your choice, plus pads built specifically for GA/DA vibration frequencies.
Pads to pair with: Pair MISO No.3 Heavy Cut (80 grit) with a heavy-cut wool pad. Pair MISO No.5 One-Step (600 grit) with an extra-fine pure wool pad made for soft black paint. Pair MISO No.10 Mirror Finish (1000 grit) with a one-step mirror wool pad, then finish with a foam pad. This is a starting point, not the only way to do it. How you match pad to grit can change based on how the paint looks as you go — what you see after a pass decides what you use next.

Things to know

Pad diameter (inches), hardness rating, recommended safe RPM, pack count, and cleaning/care instructions don't have official published specs yet. Message us on WhatsApp to confirm before you order or start.
Materials to avoid haven't been published yet either. If you're not sure about a material or paint condition, test a small hidden area first.
Go by the recommended speed for your machine and the compound you're using — don't overspeed. Extended heavy cutting builds up heat, so let the pad and paint cool down partway through before continuing.
The pad itself doesn't have a grit — the cutting grit comes from the compound. Pick your pad and compound together.
Wool pads cut aggressively — uneven pressure or uneven compound coverage can damage the clear coat. If you're new to this, practice with a medium-cut or finishing pad first before moving up to a heavy-cut one.
Cutting through the clear coat and burning the paint are both irreversible. Check every panel under a detailing light before returning the car.

FAQ

5 inch is the most common size, and it works with standard home-use DA polishers. For beginners, we'd suggest a 5 inch as your main pad with a 3 inch as backup — that covers 90% of polishing situations.

The coarse pad (orange) is dense with large open cells, paired with 600 grit for medium cutting. The mirror pad (black) is the densest, with a fine surface, paired with 1000 grit for the final finishing pass. Don't mix and match them.

With normal care, a pad can last 50–100 uses. Replace it once cutting power drops off noticeably, the surface deforms, or the edges wear down. Rinsing it right after each use can extend its life significantly.
